The Most Random 4th of July Ever

Like most fun days, we started off with low expectations. With the 4th of July falling on a Wednesday and expecting the typical rainy weather that likes to come right when the show starts, we had just written it off as nothing special. However, when you mix the right people together, add a bit of boredom and nice weather and fun will always ensue.

I had a few chores around the house to get done before our friends showed up. I hadn't quite finished in the garage when they showed up. I quickly found some projects to distract them long enough for me to finish. Little did I know that it would quickly turn into santa's little workshop.

Once they had sanded every piece of wood in my garage they found the squirt guns that were hidden in a bin under a tarp behind my quad. Hilarity ensued, especially when Annabelle grabbed a bucket.

Then we had some hot dogs, chili, and watermelon for lunch.

After eating some grub, it was time to distract the kids once again. This time I found some PVC laying around the garage. We made some pretty awesome instruments.

Oddly enough, pvc has great shoe catapulting properties when combined with an old stump. This eventually turned into all out shoe war. The only casualty was Marci's shoes.

Eventually as the party wound down, we resorted to tying the kids up with rope.

Eventually it was time to tie up the grownups

Without any fireworks, we had a blast. As it got dark, our neighbors wowed us with a great fireworks show that lasted into the night. The yellowing moon made a great backdrop to the show.

All the other wonderful photos from throughout our crazy random day!
