Easter Eggs with Kool-Aid

This year we decided to dye our Easter eggs with Kool-Aid and see how well it worked. I found this great link that made it look really awesome…so why not right?!?

       First things First…wax coloring for cool designs on the eggs.       

                                      

I think the kids fully approve of our new method for dyeing eggs…they wont quit asking if they can drink it when we are done…HAHA!!

They turned out really great in the end. Next year we will keep some of the colors but some we wont. We found out the lemonaid doesn’t really work for making a yellow, but the orange actually starts out as a yellow if you don’t leave it in long. The Grape turns more gray/black and the Blue Raspberry lemonaid makes too light of a blue. Oh well always next year to try again.

Now onto the tasting of the Kool-aid only mized with 2/3 cup of water…this is where is gets good!!

   Not what they expected from the sweet smell they were getting!  

As it turns out Kool-Aid is really sour when it is not mixed with a TON of sugar…but at the same time it still smells super sweet and yummy.
