Blake's Buddy Party

Today we had Blake's first official all big kid party! No little kids were allowed (see how long that will actually be allowed) ;)

He had several buddies over today! Some from when he was at Crownhill Elementary School, some from our new Homeschool group, and then one that hes known since preschool with Mrs. Jo :) I thanked the Lord too because just as the kids were all showing up the sun decided to peek through and show its beautiful face for all of us.

We put a spin on pin the tail on the donkey (a game he really insisted on playing). I found a spinner board and before each turn the kids had to spin the board to see how many times they would be spun before pinning on their tail...it was actually pretty funny, especially for those who landed on 8 or more.

Then we went right into our whipped cream hidden worm game. Each kid had their own bowl of 10 gummy worms hidden under a pile of whipped cream and they had one minute to get as many of their worms out as possible, without using their hands. HILARIOUS!!!

We did presents, which was a blast to watch as always. I think Blake fell more in love with Mason Cox when he opened her present and saw it was his very first Beyblade! The one thing he told all his friends he wanted. I wish I could have captured the picture of the look of LOVE he gave her as he opened it! So sweet. He got more spy stuff, another remote control car, legos, and a water gun. I think it was a very successful party for him.

The kids spent most of the time playing around in the backyard getting into all kinds of trouble! It was great watching then play around. Definitely wore me out fairly quickly though.

Blake 7th Birthday

On March 21, 2005 my life changed forever! Even though it didn't really happen the best way I would still go back to that very day and do it all over again. I became such a proud Mommy to a wonderful and healthy baby boy! I always start to get super sad around the time I started labor with him every year just thinking about how hard but amazing it was...I have so blessed watching him grow up into a good boy. I can't believe it has been 7 years when I can still remember like it was yesterday! I hope I will always be able to remember that day like it was only yesterday.

For Blake's Birthday this year Jake came home early from work and we took him out on the town, or at least as much out on the town as a 7 year old should be. :)
Our first stop of the night was Game Stop! He brought it 4 games he wanted to trade in and earned enough credit to get a game and then we bought him another game as well. After a lot of thinking and deliberating he chose to get Wipe Out and Tron!

Then we headed out to diner at Red Robin...YUM! He requested that if we go there he be able to play the mini games while we waited to be seated, that we had to get the tower of onion rings, and that he was going to check with the people to see if he could get a free ice cream for everyone (not just him)! Right there in that sentence you distinctly see a bit of his personality, my personality, and Jake's personality. We sure did make a great kid together!

We ended up having some good company while at Red Robin, we had the whole Pastor family there and even got Anna and Jazzy to join us as well. He had a nice big crowd of people celebrating with him on his special day this year...he really is a lucky kid!

We made it home with the kiddos barley awake, just enough energy left in them to get into jammies and listen to a book!IMG_20120321_193728 I think he had a GREAT 7th birthday.

Happy 7th Birthday Blake Mommy and Daddy Love you SO much!!

Boys Joint Family Party

Jakes 30th Birthday

Blake 7th Birthday

It makes me feel so blessed when we have our giant family parties here at the house! We recently just had 30 family members out at our place to celebrate Jake's 30th birthday and Blake's 7th birthday! I can believe my husband is 30, that just seems normal, but for my son (first born) to be 7 years old already is such a sad thought. His life with us seems to be fling by so fast. I am scared to go to sleep now because I feel like before I know it he will be turning 18 and going off to college! :*(

On a happier note though...we successfully had 30 people in this house that God has blessed us with and it didn't feel overwhelming by any means. This year we were lucky enough to have some of Jake's family from Arlington be able to make it all the way down for this wonderful and monumental celebration. It means so much to me knowing that they would be willing to drive all the way down here to come visit us and show Jake how important he is to all of them.

So lets map it out...30 people...but where did they all come from?

  1. Rick and Julie came from Ridgefield, WA
  2. Steph, and Rocky (so sad Jamie couldn't make it) came from Battle Ground, WA
  3. Cindy and Charlie came from Fall City, WA
  4. Steven and Amity came from Redmond, WA
  5. Tami, Rick, and Greg came from Lynnwood, WA
  6. Russell came from Edmonds, WA
  7. Bob and Lou came from Shoreline, WA
  8. Lina and her two boys came from Mill Creek, WA
  9. David and Kari came from Arlington, WA
  10. Connie, Caitria, and Travis came from Arlington, WA
  11. Jon came from Arlington, WA
Then in the spirit of it being St. Patricks Day we decided to dress up the kiddos in their coolest green outfit they got. We sprayed their hair green, gave them green necklaces, Blake some green glasses and Ayden a green pig tail headband. So much fun...or and green face paint. Then once Lina's boys got here we had to get them all dressed up as well...made for a great cousin picture!

We had some great Chili at the end of the night! Lots of GREAT and much needed conversation time, loves, hugs, and kisses!
Thank you to all who came out for the day and shared your joy and celebrated with us and our family! I thank God everyday for everyone in this wonderful family we have. For those who couldn't make it I hope this helps you feel as if you were here with us. Someday soon there will be a time when we can all gather together as one GIANT family!

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!

Blake got super excited about all his gifts this year! Even his cousins got really excited!

What better to get an old man?!?
