Papa Johns 75th in Colorado

What an amazing time having the whole Andrews Family together again!
My Uncle Chris and Aunt Cheryl have a beautiful house with 80 acres and were wonderful enough to open their house to all of us for the weekend.
We had the entire four generations of families there for a whole weekend. We played games, laughed, ate some great food, and caught up on each others lives. Many of the family memebers were meeting for the very first time, which is so sad when we think about it. It just goes to show how life and all our duties make us miss out on so much family time.
Saturday we celebrated Papa Johns 75th Birthday!!! We did an egg toss, egg race, water ballon toss (which turned into more of a water balloon fight), a pool tournament, horse back riding, and so much more. I think the highlight of the night was the family talent show that went on. All the kiddos (and Jake) put on some really cute shows for us. It was great to hear my Uncle Mike and Papa John sing. Those are two men that have such an amazing vocal talent from God and they were accompanied by my Aunt Michelle who does such a wonderful job on the piano. God has truly blessed our family and didn't make a black sheep out of any of us.
As my grandfather stood there and said a few words to us as a family we couldn't help but break into tears. We take for granteded how blessed we are as a family and what an amazing role model we have in our elders. I know my life would not be the same without their amazing influence and the way they lead us by example. I truly treasure all these days and memories we have together...I know someday we will have to say good-bye and live by our memories till we all meet again in heaven, but it still doesn't make it any easier. I love my grandparents so much and with the lose of one already it makes me realize how precious and short life is.
Sunday we had a great church service all together in my Uncles house. With Jake and Michelle leading us in worship then my Uncle reading a passage from Phillipians. My cousin Jeremy took over and talked about how we need to stop being selfish and always worring about ourselves but thinking of others and our family first and truly becoming the children of God. Giving him praise for everything on this earth that he has given us and learn to share that love with others. For me it was truely a great reminder of how selfish we can be as humans and how we need to learn to let go and live our life for God and what he truly wants for our lives and how family is more than just people being related on this earth!
All I can say is THANK YOU GOD for giving me such an amazing and inspiring family =)
I could have gone without the crazy turbulance on the way in...made me feel like I was gonna lose my lunch for sure. Made up for it by being able to see some cool lightning storms on the way out and back home...all though I was hoping for those while we were on the ground. Blake was convinced he wanted to see a tornado because it would be just like flying in an airplane. =) crazy kids and their innocent ideas of life.
