This was the kids third year attending the annual Apple Cider Pressing at April Joy Farms in Ridgefield, WA and mine and Jakes first year attending. We got to help pick the apples, wash the apples, put them in the chopper, press them, and then bottle them. Oh and can't forget being able to drink some too. =)
The apple press was such an awesome machine...I have decided we need one for apples and mostly our plums. =) The kids are really good little helpers pickcing and chopping. I was impressed with how well they did. After hours of chopping and pressing they still weren't done.
This year they even had a really old and big 2 strok...noisey but really awesome to watch. Kids were even very interested.
A big thank you to farmer April for letting all of us come out and help with the fun and learning about pressing apples. If you live in the ridgefield area and are looking for an awesome lady to get a csa from check out her site!
P.S she does pigs too and they are awesome! =)
